What a Bespoke Suit Costs in Bangkok — and Why

Bangkok tailoring spans everything from a same-day ฿5,000 suit to commissions that rival Savile Row. The price isn't mysterious once you know what changes between the tiers — and it isn't just the cloth.

## The honest 2026 ranges

- ฿5,000–10,000 — "24-hour suits": fused, factory-block patterns, cloth you can feel the difference in. Fine for a costume; not a suit you'll keep.
- ฿12,000–20,000 — good made-to-measure: adjusted patterns, half-canvas at the better houses, real cloth from regional mills.
- ฿35,000–60,000 — bespoke from an established house: hand-drafted pattern, full floating canvas, multiple fittings, heritage cloth from mills like Holland & Sherry or Loro Piana.
- ฿60,000+ — bespoke in super-150s and rarer cloths, or heavily hand-worked construction.

## Where the money actually goes

A bespoke commission is mostly hours. Drafting your pattern takes the master tailor most of a day. Cutting, padding the canvas by hand, two or three fittings, and the finishing — buttonholes alone are hours of hand work. Cloth is typically a third of the price, never more than half.

## What genuinely moves the price

- Cloth: super number and mill. A super-150s from a famous English mill costs the house several times what a solid regional wool does.
- Construction: full canvas over fused. This is the durability difference.
- Details: working cuffs, hand-set collars, pick-stitching — each is time.
- Urgency: a genuine 24–48-hour bespoke turnaround costs extra because the bench is cleared for your garment alone.

## The cheap-suit trap

> If a price sounds impossible, the compromise is invisible until the first dry clean: fused interlining bubbles, cloth pills, and the fit drifts.

Ask what's inside the jacket before comparing prices. A fused "bespoke" suit at ฿8,000 and a full-canvas one at ฿35,000 are different products that happen to look similar in shop light.
